Year 9 visit to Warwick University

This full day event for Year 9 students offers an insight into university life; it involves a variety of different activities, including a campus tour, different academic sessions and a student life session.

Science Club visitor

We have a visitor to the Science Club on Thursday 14^th and Thursday 21^st June. He will be talking to the students about rockets and the science behind them and he will be demonstrating different types of rocket. He will work with pupils to make their own rocket kits which they will be able to launch on his second visit, the following week.

The dates are Thursday 14^th and Thursday 21^st June.

End of Spring Term Arrangements

As you will already be aware, we break up for the Easter holiday on Thursday 5th April. School will end at 1:00pm to allow teachers to complete administrative tasks etc.

Pupils will be allowed to leave from the start of the lunch period at 12:35 pm. Meals will still be available and students entitled to a free school meal will be able to get them in the normal way.

If there is a particular reason why your child cannot come home at this time, please let the school know and we will make special arrangements for them to be supervised.

I have decided to make the last day of term a non–uniform day with pupils donating a minimum of 50p to our Africa Inspires project. Sixth form students will be collecting the contributions during lesson one.

Thank you for all previous donations. Students and staff are continuing to work hard towards the £4000 target that we are hoping to raise in order to purchase a water harvester for Kiddawalime, our partner school in Uganda.

The deadline is Thursday 31 May and we are just over half way there!

Students should return to school at the normal time on Monday 23 April 2012.

Half Term Arrangements

School will close at the usual time on Friday 10 February and students should return to school at 8.50am on Monday 20 February 2012.

Friday 10 February will be a non-uniform day in aid of charity. Pupil donations of 50p will go towards our fund raising efforts for Kiddawalime School in Uganda. This is Lyng Hall's partner school and as you may be aware, we are trying to raise money for a water harverster so that the pupils can have clean water.
