Congratulations to Brendan Hart in Year 10!

Congratulations to Brendan Hart in Year 10 who has won the British Computing Society's ‘Challenge IT’ Competition. The competition was open to all schools and organisations in Coventry, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

Brendan entered the web site category and had to build and create his own website. He reached the final at Coventry University, a great achievement in itself, and did amazingly well to win.

There was a prize for Brendan and also £200 for the school.

Mr Cook is doing a daredevil skydive to collect money for Africa Inspires.

Please sponsor him if you are able as all donations will go towards our target of providing a water harvester for our partner school, Kiddawalime, in Uganda.

National Express visits pupils

A team from National Express have been visiting school assemblies all week talking to the pupils about safety on public transport. It has proved a very interesting and beneficial project for the pupils.

Year 9 football team win their match

Well done to our Year 9 football team who won their match against Whitley Abbey, 4 – 2, on Thursday 1 March.

They are now in the quarter-finals of the Coventry Schools Cup!

Art Trip to London

Students from Years 10,11,12 & 13 have been involved in a trip to London visiting Museums and Art Galleries. There was also an opportunity to go on the London Eye for those students who were interested.

A very interesting and worthwhile day!

Visit to Houses of Parliament

A group of Year 8 students and Miss Stanley have just returned from a visit to the Houses of Parliament. They were there to inform MP's about the very successful Class Band intiative and to show them a video which has been produced by the Performing Arts Service.

Pupils involved were:

Selina Ali, Ravinder Balrey, Jasneet Bansal, Sheraz Iqbal, Daniel Jackson, Allisha Morey & Lauren Morris.

Bishop of Coventry launches Hope Fund

Lyng Hall enjoyed a very successful visit from the Bishop of Coventry. He was in school to launch The Hope Fund. Our students have been set the task of increasing a sum of money which has been given to the charity by a local business man. Local press attended to report on the visit and take photographs.
