Introduction

The provision in Years 12 and 13 is changing in terms of the quality and provision offered. This includes curriculum opportunities and provision of personalised learning.  We are expecting a significant rise in the number of students returning to Sixth Form and the results of examinations due to these changes in September 2010.

Everyone is committed to ensuring that the pupils achieve the highest possible standards, we adapt and personalise the delivery of the curriculum and staff are actively encouraged to develop creative and motivational techniques for teaching the pupils.

Results are improving and pupils are given a wider range of opportunities and experiences to enrich the quality of their lives, help them to achieve their potential.

We work with the North-East Federation to provide opportunities to study any subject that our students need to improve their life opportunities.  In conjunction with the Federation we offer AS and A2 levels and BTEC in all subjects.

All of the staff at KS5 are excited about the courses we offer and provide inductions to each of these subjects to match the excitement around them.  These inductions include workshops and specialist skill sessions delivered and presented by specialists.  The aim of this is to help raise attainment and improve opportunities for our young adult learners.
