This page contains some news items and information for current students with an update on past students and the chance to get in touch!

Mr Loach-Smith took a group of pupils to watch the Wasps rugby team training at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday 16 December.

Apart from watching the training session, they also had the chance to meet the players!

It was a very successful and enjoyable trip and perhaps inspired some budding rugby players of the future?

Congratulations to Sanna Ehsan in Year 8 who won the Student College logo competition.

 This is her fantastic design:

Thank you to all students and their families for supporting the charity collection the Student College organised recently.  We were able to deliver much needed supplies of dried food, toiletries and clothing to the Salvation Army.

On Friday 11th May, Idora Musa represented Lyng Hall at the Rotary Young Entertainer of the Year competition. She performed a piece of music called 'River Flows in You' on a grand piano in front of a packed audience at the Warwick Arts Centre. Idora was the youngest competitor in the event which included acts from every secondary school in the city.

Well Done Idora

Congratulations to Brendan Hart in Year 10 who has won the British Computing Society's ‘Challenge IT’ Competition. Brendan entered the web site category and had to build and create his own website. He reached the final at Coventry University, a great achievement in itself, and did amazingly well to win.

Presentation to Brendan by Derek Willer from the Institute of Engineering and Technology.  Paul Green accepted a cheque for £200 on behalf of the school which was also part of the prize.

Brendan with one of the competition organisers and John Insley, Director of Learning of ICT at Lyng Hall School.
