Lyng Hall School is an incredibly special place and a community that is vibrant and welcoming: I have been overwhelmed by the positivity and enthusiasm of the whole community in the past months since my first visit in February 2025 and can say with honesty that this is a place where both young people and adults in the community can, and do, thrive. Lyng Hall School is part of the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust, which is a trust driven by the strong purpose of achieving a world-class education for all students. We firmly believe in the importance of diversity of experience in education, recognising that we are not just developing academic brains but whole young people who are going to go out into the world with only the foundations of what we and their families have taught them.
At Lyng Hall, we know that it is our responsibility to ensure that every person in our community is able to achieve their best: we recognise that investing in our staff and their development and retention will enable them to thrive in their roles, which will subsequently enable them to invest similarly and as fervently in our young people, allowing them to do the same. As a result, we recognise the importance of relationships, which sit at the heart of every success. We behave respectfully at all times and have high expectations of every single member of the community: not just with regard to engagement in learning, but in everyday conduct and life. When our students leave site at the end of the school day, they take a bit of Lyng Hall experience with them and we are absolutely committed to ensuring that those experiences enable them to be successful outside of school also.
This school has been under the Headship of Paul Green for 22 years and it has become this wonderful place as a result of his clarity of vision and expectations. I am extremely privileged to be following in his footsteps and further embedding the priorities of inclusion, pastoral excellence, academic success, diverse opportunities and generally going above and beyond to secure the very best outcomes for all students. Our goal is that every young person leaves us well-equipped for their next steps in life and able to look back proudly on their education and what it has enabled them to achieve.
